Dr. Wieder trained at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the University of Oregon. He has been in private practice for over 30 years and has a faculty appointment at the University of Washington in the Department of Psychology as an adjunct clinical instructor.
In addition to conducting forensic evaluations and providing expert witness consultations in civil and criminal courts for legal proceedings focused on parenting, child custody and protection, and sexual deviancy, Dr. Wieder also maintains a psychotherapy practice for select clients who are seeking assistance in managing challenging life circumstances, such as relationship struggles, depression, and transition through major life change.
Dr. Wieder is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Washington State Psychological Association, the International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychology, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Association for the Treatment of Sex Abusers, and the Washington State Association for the Treatment of Sex Abusers. He has provided consultation to private schools, hospitals, and attorneys, and is a contracted provider for Children's Protective Services.
